Douglas & Sherry - July 2011

Another summer adventure with Douglas & Sherry. The weather was not as pleasant as last year's but we did get some nice cruising in. After arriving at Squirrel Cove for the first night at anchor the dinghy was launched and Douglas & Sherry began their first exploration of the summer. Except for the part where an oarlock went overboard....paddling was the name of the game for that evening.
How to Row without an Oarlock.
The next day (after an emergency stop at Refuge Cove for another oarlock) we headed for Grace Harbour where the weather didn't cooperate much but we still had a good time.
Who tied this stupid knot?

The Happy Rowing Party.

Pendrell Sound rewarded us with incredible beauty and warm weather - heaven.

Our final planned anchorage was in Von Donop Inlet. That went well for a few hours until a shoreside exploration got underway. The able bodied Captain Conrad, while getting out of the dinghy on shore, managed to step on a rock that rolled out from under him. A painful fall on the rocks necessitated a three hour run back to emergency in Campbell River where it was determined that no bones were broken but significant vision problems ensued shortly after. In the meantime Douglas became the captain that we all knew he was....
